Delaney's Story
Delaney Corbitt was born on October 26th , 1994 in San Pedro, CA. She was delivered in an emergency C-section at Cedar Sinai hospital in Los Angeles after the doctors had determined in uterus that she had bi-lateral renal vein thrombosis which is basically blood clots that ruined her kidneys'. Delaney went on the waiting list for a kidney and her parents moved the family up to Northern California where they could be closer to Stanford Hospital's transplant program. On August 27, 1997 the call had come in that a kidney was found; a 7 year old little girl named Alexandria Cotti had been hit by a car while riding her bike in Hollister, CA and her parents donated her organs. The following video tells the story of these two little girls and how two families came together to form a bond that will last a life time and hopefully inspire others to register to donate as well.

Allie gets her heart!
After an almost 23 month wait and thanks to our generous donor, our 10 year old daughter Allie has finally gotten her new heart! We are so very grateful to our donor family! Allie is our second daughter to require a new heart in less than four years. Our daughters had a condition called restrictive cardiomyopathy which has no cure. The only way to save them was through heart transplantation. Our family has decided that through this journey, it has become our responsibility to educate people about organ transplantation and donation. Our challenge to people is for them to decide how they feel about organ donation while things are going well for their family, not to wait until a tragedy happens to think about it. Our hope is that if they have already decided as a family how they feel about donation then if they are faced with a situation where they are asked to donate, they will already know what to do. If not for our donor families and their knowledge and generosity, we would have lost both of our daughters. Please help us and other families by challenging everyone you know to think about organ donation today and decide now what they would do if tragedy strikes. We hope to meet all of you at the walk across the bridge in May!
Love, Aimee and Kirk Von Zup
